Statement?

Each sense has it’s story and an impulse to project. While we are most driven by sight, sound and smell, there are other less defined senses or collaborations of senses. Some of my art explores what is projected by these senses. Other works have been inspired by the creativity of others. Some works seem to be a way of refining my questions, while others seem to be answers. Some is whimsy. In short, art(creating) is what I enjoy doing. The impulse is to do, not to talk about doing, if you follow.

The Website

This site came into being as the means to display my 3D art after I discovered the software program Bryce. There was (and still is) a large on-line community using this raytracing program. As often happens, one thing can lead to many others; I was fortunate enough to join the Bryce beta-testing team and another level of community.

That was a few years ago. Since then, I’ve expanded the site to add the works from other media such as drawing, pen & ink, painting, carving, etc. I also went back to school and completed a two year college course on Art and Design (I was older than many of the teachers.) Some of that work appears here as well. Occasionally, I’ll include photography.

I’ve attempted to divide the website into some form of order. If I knew enough about HTML/CSS and other languages, I’d be tempted to put it in a pile and have them tossed out at random with a zen or chaos theory in mind. One portion is devoted to 3D (Bryce) and fully digital. The 2D section is both digital and traditional media, where I’ve put the wood carvings. It’s also where I put the hybrid artwork that start as traditional media and finished or modified by software.
