Malcolm Stockton received his call to the Bar of Ontario in 1975, and has practised law in Niagara Falls since that time. While he concentrates his practice on real estate, mortgages, corporate and commercial work, and trade-mark registration, he also has considerable experience in business acquisitions and entrepreneurial immigration.
Malcolm also has an extensive background in industrial relations. For eleven years, he acted as a part-time mediator, fact-finder and arbitrator for the Education Relations Commission of Ontario, completing over 100 assignments. In 1985, he was appointed to the Ontario Labour Board as a management representative, a position which he held for three years before retiring to pursue an interest in local politics.
A former teacher, Malcolm has maintained a profound interest in education. From 1988 to 1997, he served as a trustee on the Niagara South Board of Education. For two years between 1991 and 1993, he served as Chair of the Board, presiding over an annual budget in excess of $165 million. He acted as the chief negotiator on two of the Board's most important collective bargaining committees, and sat on the Board's budget development committee.
Malcolm is also a part-time professor at Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology, teaching law at the School of Tourism and Hospitality.
In his spare time, Malcolm is an ardent family historian, and maitains a growing website about the Stockton Family History.
Born in the United Kingdom, Malcolm immigrated to Canada as a child and became a naturalized Canadian in 1972. He holds an European Economic Community passport.
